The bubble chair was designed by Eero Aarnio in 1968 and is made from acrylic and solid stainless steel. Can hold up to appx 300 pounds.

According to Eero’s notes, the bubble hangs from the ceiling because ‘there is no nice way to make a clear pedestal.’ It shares the same unique acoustics as the ball chair, a little cocoon that shields off the outside world.

As a young boy Eero Aarnio had been fascinated by soap bubbles. In the city he had never made one but fleeing the war to the countryside he remembers blowing huge soap bubbles from a barn. The bubbles would take off with the wind and drift far away to the fields. The image of a field filled with transparent soap bubbles stuck with him.

Antique United Company "Ta-Bed" Table Bed. The Arts & Crafts table opens to reveal a twin bed frame and springs. Can be used as a desk (with low chair) or console. The "twin" bed frame is actually larger than a twin (see dimensions below). The mattress included is new - a Japanese Tatami mat so that it is able to fold. If desired, you can use a twin mattress separately and fold up the bed without any mattress.

Piece has wear consistent with age, a spot on the inside of the frame (wood) when unfolded that has wear. Frame is spring. The table wood surface has minor signs of wear, this is an antique! It is from the late 1800, however it was built to last. Review all photos. All sales final.

Mod round sleeper sofa by Spherical Furniture newly reupholstered in a taupe velvet.

The ottomans can be placed at the front but also functionality comes into play to transform the sofa into a circular bed! This can be done by turning the above layer of the border to the opposite side and subsequently placing the ottomans in the opening. This piece of furniture is designed to provide an ultimate level of comfort due to the thick seating cushions and the very large seat.

The Djinn series chairs were featured in the hotel scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrik in 1968. 2018 was the 50 year anniversary of the film with exhibitions of the hotel scene on display in museums across the world including the Smithsonian, The National Air and Space museum in March 2018.
